IKEA Deliveries to Shetland

Shetland Transport offers an IKEA collection service from the IKEA depot at Edinburgh. In fact, the only way to get ordered goods delivered from IKEA to Shetland is through Shetland Transport who are the designated Shetland freight agents for IKEA, Edinburgh.

You can, of course, go to IKEA in person, buy goods there and take them away with you, but if you require delivery to Shetland, it will be handled by Shetland Transport.

Shetland Transport collects goods from the Edinburgh branch of IKEA once every two weeks. At that time we collect everything that IKEA has ready for their customers in Shetland. Once we have collected your IKEA order, it will be available for collection from our Lerwick depot a few days later, usually from a Monday.

If you prefer, you can opt instead to have us personally deliver your IKEA order direct to your Shetland home address when we make our next delivery in your area. Please bear in mind that this option may mean that it takes longer for you to receive your order than through personal collection.

We charge £98.00 (ex. VAT) for a full IKEA pallet. Part pallets are charged on a pro rata basis. We will invoice you once your IKEA items have been collected from our Lerwick depot, or delivered to your home address.

IKEA Collection Service - A Simple Process

Please read the instructions below carefully and follow the steps exactly as stated:

  1. You have to place an order with IKEA first, of course. You can pick up a catalogue from our Lerwick depot. Alternatively you can view the IKEA catalogue online, or you can also order a printed copy from the IKEA site
  2. Choose the items you wish to purchase and place your order through this email address:
    ikeaedinburgh.orders@ikea.com

Remember to use the 8-digit number that all IKEA items are identified by, along with a short description, the size and colour if applicable, and the quantity required.

You also must remember to include your own name, address and contact telephone number. Remember, too much information, within reason, is better than too little.
  3. Once you have sent off your order via the email provided (ikeaedinburgh.orders@ikea.com), IKEA will email you back. Your order details will be an attachment to their email. Check the order details thoroughly for accuracy. If there is any discrepancy at this stage, please contact IKEA, or re-order the items you require, supplying the correct information.
  4. IKEA will then contact you using the contact information you supplied so you can pay for the goods using your credit card or debit card.

That's it. We'll collect your order (and all others destined for Shetland customers) and we'll take it to Shetland for you
